The Upper Palatinate Forest (German: Oberpfälzer Wald) is a mountain range on the European continent that is divided between Germany and the Czech Republic. The German side of the range is in the Upper Palatinate region of Bavaria and borders the Bavarian Forest. The highest peaks of the range lie along the Czech side, which is known in Czech as Český les and is northwest of the Bohemian Forest.
The range is a mountainous solid mass, its highest point being at an altitude of 1,042 m (3,420 ft). The area features many hiking trails and is popular for recreation.
